West Highland Terrier
The wonders known as West Highland White Terriers are just that, little white wonders. Westies as they are more commonly known as they are part of the family terrier. If you are looking for a dog, fun, loving, loyal, a Westie is the perfect choice for you. Westies are full of energy and love to play exciting.
They tend to be a barker of sorts, from the beginning, but proper training can help curb this little tract.Westies are quick and students can quickly master a series of tricks once outside the stadium puppy. My little Toby was completely tame and very comfortable with the rules of the house about 24 weeks of age.
West Highland Terries can do well around children if raised with them. They are playful little nippers, but are not vicious in any way.Like most dogs, Westies love regular routine and even enjoy being on a schedule. They like the normal dog things, like chewing raw hides or play ball. They love to run and explore and do quite well outdoors.
Westies can go long periods of time between baths when they are primarily a dog smells in and not bring any birds. Their white coats will shed a little ‘, but overall it is a nuisance. Westies really like to be brushed and cared for.
They are good to alert you when strangers arrive or there is a strange noise outside. Westies are very affectionate and loyal and are more at home curled up at your feet or laying beside you. I’m not a full lap dog, but they do not care affection.
Overall, I think Westies are good for a small family slower pace. Westies want one, at times, require attention. They have great personalities and hit the sweetest poses and know how to ask for things. Westies tend to live a long life and must make a great best friend for many years to come.
Council strongly consider getting a Westie as a companion and later joining the club owner Westy. You’ll be glad you did.
